The MLL Ecosystem Project

Meetings are held biweekly throughout the semester via Zoom and facilitated by me! Meeting structures will be determined by the goals and needs of the cohort: consider it a professional inquiry where we collaborate to find the answers (and questions) we are looking for.  My MLL Ecosystem Project consists of two distinct cohorts, based on your goals as an educator. This is an ecosystem for middle leaders and change-makers who are interested in building equitable, sustainable systems for multilingual students rooted in strength, growth, and joy.  Middle leaders can be defined broadly as; curriculum coordinators, student support team coordinators, MLL/EAL department heads, instructional coaches, or passionate MLL specialists looking to make grassroots change at their school.

The major goals of this MLL Equity Ecosystem include:
  • to build a supportive, loving, and challenging professional ecosystem of commited educators dedicated to designing equitable systems for multilingual learners.
  • to gather concrete visioning, implementation, and coaching skills to build the equitable and loving systems our multilingual learners deserve.
  • to learn from each other and build a collective conversation and movement that transforms the paradigm for multilingual learners in our schools.
  • ​the personalized inquiries of the group.

This is an ecosystem for MLL/EAL specialists who are interested in deepening their instructional and curricular craftsmanship based on current research in multilingualism, language acquisition, deep learning, and content and language integrated learning.

The major goals of the Instructional Ecosystem include:
  • to build a supportive, loving, and challenging professional ecosystem of commited educators dedicated to strengthening their craft.​
  • to gather instructional practices that facilitate language acquisition, nurture multilingual identity, and foster agency.
  • ​the personalized inquiries of the group.
